If you’re like me, you’re always looking for new ways to leverage your Instagram following and keep them content at the same time. This can be tough! When your end goal is to sell product, followers can get annoyed when constantly seeing product rammed in their faces.
This is why I developed what I call “Tag and Win Live Streaming”. Since I started using this technique, my follower engagement has dramatically increased.
How it works
Instagram Tag and Win Live streaming is exactly how it sounds but with a strategic twist. You can do this with your own products, or with products from a company that sponsors you.
The point of the stream is to giveaway product and prizes in return for your followers tagging friends in your most recent post or your sponsors most recent post. I usually have them tag 3 friends in the post and I won’t do the giveaway until the post has a certain amount of comments. This needs to be based on how many followers you have watching. If you have 30+ viewers, you should easily be able to force 100 comments on a post you choose. Once it hits your required number of comments, you can pick a winner.
Make sure all the comments on the post are loaded then scroll up and down on the comments quickly. Press down to stop on a lucky winner, showing the viewers as you go. It’s good to use an iPad or other device to show the viewers live who won.
Having them tag friends is the key to the whole thing. This alerts their friends to come look at the post and will land the client a potential follower and or sale. It’s one of the best ways I have developed to bring interest to a clients page and products or even your own.
